C0004: Information Assurance Specialist

Position Overview:

Altron seeks a cybersecurity systems engineer (analyst) with 3 plus years of experience to assist with accreditation/authorization Subject Matter Expertise for US Navy customers.  Participate and critically review key controls and security documentation and systems for compliance with Navy policy in a role to protect our nation’s assets. This position provides an excellent opportunity to partner with key personnel in a fast paced dynamic environment.


Responsibilities Include:

Function as a cybersecurity subject matter expert and accreditation/authorization SME for US Navy customers in a fast-paced environment. Critically review and validate Assessment and Authorization (A&A) and Certification and Accreditation (C&A) documentation controls and security documentation for compliance with Navy policy, including DoD 8500 series and NIST 800-series Special Publications. Infuse high quality throughout preparation of deliverables. Provide critical written and verbal analysis of systems security documentation, and formal testing. DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation (DIACAP) or NIST SP800-series Risk Management Framework.  Candidates must have willingness to travel up to 20%, certifications that will permit DoD 8570.01-M IAM 3 level (e.g.; CISM, CISSP, GSLC).  Existing “Fully Qualified Navy Validator” status a plus.  Experience with Tenable scanning products and DoD Security Technical Implementation Guidance, a plus. Experience with security of Industrial Control Systems/SCADA a plus.  

 
Basic Qualifications:
  • 3 years of direct experience with cybersecurity requirements (IA Controls)
  • 3 years of experience with writing SSPs, C&A Plans, and/or other security related policy documentation
  • 3 years of direct experience with DoDI 8510.01, DoDI 8500.2 (or NIST SP 800-37 & 53.
  • 5 years of experience working with computer network devices and operating systems
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills
  • CISSP, CISM, or GSLC certification (DoD 8570 IAM Level III)
  • BA or BS degree (technical BS a plus)

T0005: Software Engineer


Location: Fairfax, Virginia

Must-Have Requirements: Candidates must be proficient in C++, JAVA, and JAVAScript programming within a Linux environment and possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering with 2+ years of software engineering work experience. Candidates should also have web-services design and development experience. Position Overview:  The qualified candidate will work on a team developing, integrating, testing, and deploying production software for use by the US Navy. T0008: COTS Integration Engineer

Additional responsibilities include armoring systems for Navy certification and accreditation; working with external vendors and customers; configuring lab environments and specifications. This individual is also responsible for requirements definitions, software/hardware critical item tests, etc. in addition to configuring and troubleshooting system hardware and software. 

Desired Skill Sets

  • Red Hat Linux Administration with a working knowledge of system
  • Intermediate Windows Administration experience
  • Understanding of private, public or hybrid cloud platform, integration or delivery as a service and distributed computing
  • Experience with OpenStack, AWS, Docker and other container/PaaS technologies
  • Experience or a thorough understanding of various virtualization technologies and tools such as KVM, Hyper –V, cloud management
  • Experience with scripting languages such as bash, python, etc.

T0013: Systems Tester - Fairfax, VA

Must-Have Requirements: The position requires at least 3 years of recent US Navy submarine combat control end user experience (Fire Control Technician). Department of Defense SECRET security clearance is required at time of hire.

This Test person shall provide services as directed by GDMS. The Test person shall support the AN/BYG-1 variants’ initial introduction and post-delivery activities. These activities include analysis, development of test procedures, On-Site Testing, special studies and support of engineering meetings. Requirements and test procedures will be managed in the DOORS requirements management tool. Interaction with external subsystems points of contact and knowledge of the SWFTS NBCR process is required. 

Test Roles and Responsibilities

  • Work with development and integration teams to promulgate and create test plans/strategies for products
  • Perform manual testing as needed to augment automated testing
  • Analyze test coverage and generate risk reports as necessary
  • Investigate test failures and determine root-causes
  • Write clear and concise bug reports, verify bug fixes (validation/verification)
  • Mentor junior test engineers
  • Gather feedback for and implement continuous test improvement
  • Maintain and develop testing policies and processes for test automation
  • Define test strategies including functional, non-functional, regression, automation, security, and performance testing
  • Work with development teams to improve overall processes and push quality upstream
  • Determine and report metrics for testing and relay results to stakeholders
  • Work with external vendors as required
  • Design additional test tools to optimize test coverage
  • Attend all meetings as applicable and provide necessary feedback when prompted
  • Support all tasking assigned by the Test Lead

T0021: Network Systems Engineer

The Network Systems Engineer shall provide services in support of network system engineering activities associated with project technical tasking. The Network Systems Engineer shall support the AN/BYG-1 variants’ initial introduction and post-delivery activities.   The Network Systems Engineer provides technical analysis in data network planning, engineering and design, and implements techniques and tools to improve the network.  The Network Systems Engineer will coordinate with all stakeholders to provide requirements and test procedures for network systems. An understanding of hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as switches, routers, firewalls, cabling, diagraming, virtual switching, ipfilter tables and shell scripting within a linux environment is required. This individual is also responsible for network evaluations, network critical item tests, system software and hardware integration, software development, and operations support to the project team and the Navy fleet. 


Additional Responsibilities

  • An understanding of routers, switches and firewalls
  • Experience with vendor network hardware solutions (i.e. Cisco, HP)
  • An understanding of OSPF, Static Routes, VLANs, L3 VLAN interfaces, ACLs, Multicast, PIM Dense and PIM Sparse, QoS fundamentals and application
  • Familiarity with DOORS requirement management system
  • Familiarity with Linux networking
  • Familiarity with Network Security (RADIUS, TACACS+)
    • Familiarity with Imaging, Sonar and other submarine SubSystems
    • Experience configuring DNS and NTP
    • Familiarity with Dimensions or other change management systems
