FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Altron Wins UnifyRT Insight Phase II SBIR

Charleston, South Carolina – November 19, 2020 – Altron announced today that it has been awarded a Phase II Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) contract from the Navy for “Unified Logging Architecture for Performance and Cybersecurity Monitoring”. During Phase I of this initiative, Altron extended its UnifyRT TM product to support network and message monitoring and with the foundation for an enhanced user interface.  UnifyRT is an open architecture platform for testing, integrating, and monitoring complex systems of systems.  UnifyRT allows testers to see, in real-time, system, and network operations to be able to more quickly assess if the system is operating properly.  If an issue is identified, UnifyRT can be used to determine the root cause of the issue.  As systems are being integrated, UnifyRT can provide real-time insight into the overall system performance and to help identify where integration issues are arising.  Once a system is operational, UnifyRT can continually monitor that system and identify if the system begins to have performance issues.  As UnifyRT is extended under this Phase II contract and with future efforts, machine learning and auto-correlation algorithms will detect issues and alert operators before actual issues arise.  As part of the Phase I effort, Altron installed and demonstrated UnifyRT on a lab version of the Navy’s AN/SQQ-89 Undersea Warfare Combat System. SQQ89 will continue to be the test platform during the Phase II effort.

Roger Grayson, Altron’s Chief Engineer, said “During Phase II, we will extend our baseline logging functionality to optimize system deployment, extend the logging functionality by providing an interface to custom applications, enhance the User Interface to reduce the time for problem categorization and set the foundation for the addition of machine learning-based algorithms.”

Mike Gercken, Altron’s VP of Engineering stated “We are very excited about this extension to the UnifyRT suite of products.  It will allow us to provide even more capabilities to both our Navy and corporate clients.”
